Long-Term
Water Augmentation Fund

What is the Long-Term Water Augmentation Fund (LTWAF)?

WIFA’s Long Term Water Augmentation Fund (LTWAF) financially supports the development of projects intended to supplement Arizona’s existing water supplies.

With a forward-thinking investment by the State of Arizona, the LTWAF will fund innovative, reliable, and sustainable solutions for augmenting Arizona’s water supply.

The LTWAF is part of a holistic approach to meeting Arizona’s water needs through diverse strategies including conservation, reuse, and the development of new sources of water, all to enhance Arizona’s water supply reliability, resiliency, and sustainability.

  • Augmentation is an effort to secure additional “new” water supplies for current and future Arizona communities.

  • WIFA’s support for augmentation projects will open the door to solutions that may initially seem impossible.

  • WIFA can and will carry on Arizona’s legacy of successful water projects with the right partnerships, careful vetting of projects, and involvement of stakeholders and the community.
